Establishing Cultural Competency in Emergency Preparedness and Response

Description:
This hands-on workshop will be useful to anyone who may be called on to participate in an emergency response effort. This interactive workshop will provide participants with a situational awareness of ‘what it means to be culturally competent’ utilizing core principles in cultural competency to increase the effectiveness of response and recovery efforts while decreasing the risk for adverse effects, distress and disorders.
Pre-Conference Workshop Registration
If you wish to register for the Symposium and a Pre-Conference Workshop , go to Online Registration, and during the registration process you will be directed to an Options page where you will be able to choose Pre-Conference sessions.
If you wish to register for the Pre-Conference only, go to Online Registration and when asked to select a conference rate choose Pre-Conference Only. Continue with the registration process.
If you have already registered for the Symposium and wish to register for the Pre-Conference as well, please follow the directions above for Pre-Conference Only registrants.
A minimum pre-registered class size of 20 is required for each workshop to go forward. A full registration refund will be granted if minimum size is not met for a class.
