Pharmacy-based
Immunization Delivery Training

The PharmPAC in collaboration with COA and APhA will be providing the Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery training for pharmacy officers at the USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium on Friday - June 13,2008. The first 20 pharmacy officers will receive enrollment at no cost. PharmPAC needs to compile a list of attendees prior to May 1, 2008. The PharmPAC is committed to help pharmacists attain APhA Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery certification. This training is open to All PHS pharmacists. At the completion of the training, you will earn 20 ACPE credit hours.

This training will provide you with:

  1. Deployment skills and opens the door for advance pharmacy practice opportunities
  2. Advance the profession of pharmacy
  3. Ability to register with their local state boards of pharmacy
  4. A certification that highlights professional development (documented in your CV and faxed in to your e-OPF)

Course Description:
This program will focus on providing pharmacists with the skills and resources necessary to establish and promote successful adult immunization services. Detailed information about routine adult immunizations will be provided in the self-study modules (12 ACPE hours) and re-enforced during the live training (8 ACPE hours) using case studies and interactive discussions. Pharmacists will be expected to practice intramuscular and subcutaneous injections on a partner during the seminar and are asked to wear clothing that will allow easy assess to the deltoid muscle. Pharmacists also must complete a self-study learning guide and assessment test prior to attending the session. A final exam will be administered at the conclusion of the program. Upon completion of the training, officers will earn 20 credit hours of continuing education and be provided a training certificate.
